The Illinois Lottery confirmed that a ticket sold at a BP station on the West Side of Chicago won the Lotto jackpot in the drawing held on Monday, October 26.

The winning numbers were 6, 12, 13, 14, 30, and 42. The primary line on the ticket matched all six of those numbers, securing the top prize of $7.4 million. A second line on the same ticket matched two numbers, adding $2 to the total payout.

The ticket was purchased at the BP located at 6751 W. Archer Ave. Abraham, the station manager, said in a lottery release that he hopes the winner is a regular customer. "I can’t believe it, it's so exciting to have a jackpot-winning ticket sold right here at our store. I hope it was one of our regulars," Abraham said.

Abraham noted that the station has had another notable win recently. He said he has managed the location for nearly 20 years and recalled selling a $100,000 Lucky Day Lotto ticket a few months ago. "So this seems to be our lucky year," he added.

The retailer will receive a $74,000 bonus, which equals 1 percent of the jackpot amount. This prize marks the third largest Lotto jackpot won in Illinois this year. The year's largest was $11.6 million, sold at a True North in Bartlett for the January 24 drawing. The second largest was $10.25 million, sold at a Tony's Fresh Market in Chicago for the August 1 drawing.

The same Monday drawing also produced a $1 million Lotto Million 2 winner in Sauget. That ticket was bought at Route 3 Fuel and Liquor at 2401 Mississippi Ave. and matched the numbers 14, 18, 20, 21, 27, and 31. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus. Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes, and the lottery advises them to sign the backs of their tickets and keep them safe.
