Authorities in Gainesville, Florida, are investigating a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex on Saturday night.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies posted to social media at approximately 8 p.m. to confirm the incident at Majestic Oaks Apartments. The complex is located on Southwest 20th Avenue. The initial report identified a male victim who was shot during the event. Officials stated that the extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

The investigation involves both Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Gainesville Police Department. Both agencies are working together to determine the circumstances surrounding the gunfire. No suspect has been identified in the initial release.

A large crowd gathered at the scene while officers conducted their investigation. Deputies asked onlookers to maintain a distance of at least 25 feet from law enforcement personnel. This measure was taken to allow officers to work effectively while managing the public presence at the site.

The shooting marks the latest violent incident reported in the Gainesville area. The male victim was treated at the scene, though specific details regarding his condition remain pending. The intersection of Southwest 20th Avenue and the apartment complex serves as the focal point for the ongoing police activity.
