Local officials in Rapid City, South Dakota, will reveal the name of the city’s new community sports facility at an open house on Tuesday, November 10. The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in LaCroix Hall at The Monument.

The City of Rapid City is hosting the session to show the public the first conceptual images of the building. Representatives from the Rapid City Sports Commission and Sanford Health will also attend. The gathering will include informational charettes where residents can offer feedback and learn about sponsorship options.

Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun said the city is eager to share the announcement with residents. “We are excited to reveal the name and unveil the first conceptual drawings of Rapid City’s future community sports facility, and want the public to participate in this important announcement,” Salamun stated.

The facility is part of a larger development project that began in early August. At that time, city leaders and the Sports Commission announced a 20-year corporate partnership with Sanford Health. The deal is valued at $10 million.

Under the agreement, Sanford Health receives naming rights for the complex. The partnership also secures a dedicated space inside the building for Sanford to use. That area will support sports medicine, sports performance, and Sports Academy activities.
