Amanda Serrano will retire from professional boxing after defending her unified WBO and WBA featherweight titles on January 9. The 38-year-old Puerto Rican champion faces Australian Skye Falzon at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. Most Valuable Promotions has designated the event as "The Last Walk."

Serrano enters the fight with a record of 50 wins, four losses, and one draw. She has secured 32 of her victories by knockout. The bout offers a chance to break the all-time women's single-division knockout record, which she currently shares with American Christy Martin. Serrano remains the only undisputed boxing champion in Puerto Rican history.

In a statement, Serrano described boxing as her life. She said she never could have imagined the journey the sport would take for her and her family. She recalled the early days when women’s boxing fought for recognition in small theater venues. She noted the progression to headlining Madison Square Garden in New York and reaching millions of fans on major cards. Serrano expressed pride in helping open doors for the next generation of female fighters.

Serrano’s career includes a historic rivalry with Ireland’s Katie Taylor. In 2022, they became the first women to headline Madison Square Garden. Their trilogy of fights produced three bouts, with Taylor winning the series. Taylor took the third meeting by majority decision in 2025. Serrano also holds a Guinness World Record for winning titles across seven weight divisions. In 2023, she contested the first women's unified world championship over 12 three-minute rounds. She later vacated her WBC title to maintain her commitment to equal rules.

Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, founders of Most Valuable Promotions, praised Serrano in a joint statement. They called "The Last Walk" a celebration of an athlete who changed the sport. The promoters said they were proud to give Serrano the farewell she deserves. They stated that the event marks the end of an extraordinary career inside the ring. They added that her legacy will live on through female fighters who follow her.

Falzon is also 38 years old. She enters the fight with a record of 12 wins and two losses. Seven of her wins have come by knockout.

The fight is scheduled for Saturday, January 9, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan.
